SD Parks & Wildlife Foundation Announces Sale of Spring Creek Golf Course
Oct 1, 2024
The South Dakota Parks & Wildlife Foundation (SDPWF) today announced the sale of Spring Creek Golf Course to Fore Score LLC, a local group of investors led by Dann Grevlos. NAI Sioux Falls served as the listing broker, and Plains Commerce Bank assisted with partial funding for the purchase
Originally acquired by SDPWF in 2015 with the vision of incorporating the land into Good Earth State Park, plans for the property evolved over time. After thorough evaluation, the Foundation’s Board of Directors made the strategic decision to sell the golf course, ensuring that the property continues to serve the community while enabling the Foundation to focus on its core mission. Proceeds from the sale will be reinvested to support future enhancements at Good Earth State Park and the surrounding area.
“Our Foundation is thrilled to announce the sale of Spring Creek Golf Course to Fore Score LLC,” said Patrick Wyss, Board Chair of SDPWF. “Our intention has always been to preserve Spring Creek as an outdoor recreation asset for the community. While we are not equipped to operate a public golf course, we are confident that this sale keeps Spring Creek a vibrant recreational destination. The proceeds from this sale will be reinvested into the park system, especially Good Earth State Park, to benefit future generations.”
Fore Score LLC has expressed a strong commitment to maintaining Spring Creek as a premier public recreation facility and continuing its long tradition of serving the greater Sioux Falls region.
“The NAI Sioux Falls team, including Gregg Brown, Bri Kacmarynski, and myself, was honored to represent the South Dakota Parks & Wildlife Foundation in the sale of Spring Creek Golf Course,” said Dennis Breske, broker at NAI Sioux Falls. “We’re excited that we procured a buyer group of resourceful and entrepreneurial professionals committed to keeping the golf course public and accessible to all Sioux Falls residents.”
Dann Grevlos, managing partner of Fore Score LLC, added: “From the time our family first considered this opportunity, we’ve been committed to keeping the course public. It’s the favorite course for so many golfers, and we wanted to maintain that accessibility. We’ve gathered a great group of local golf enthusiasts who share this vision.”
Kristina Coby, Executive Director of SDPWF, emphasized the Foundation’s mission: “Our Foundation exists to enhance outdoor recreation for future generations. We will continue to support South Dakota’s parks and wildlife, just as we have for nearly 40 years.”
In addition to this milestone, the Foundation is preparing to launch a historic, statewide fundraising campaign—the first of its kind in South Dakota—to support 28 unique improvement projects across 19 state parks. These projects include new visitor centers, indoor fish cleaning stations, amphitheaters, trail bridges, and more.
